Virgen de las Montañas Hospital
Discover our Hospital
It was inaugurated in July 1996, being approved by the Ministry of Health as a level IV hospital, an approval that is renewed every 4 years, as established by the General Health Law. The center mainly attends to the healthcare demand of the population of the Sierra de Cádiz, together with health and specialty centers.
Our emergency service has the technical and human capacity to attend to any life-threatening emergency, and the surgical and adult and neonatal intensive care unit guarantees the intervention and stabilization of any pathology of immediate life-threatening condition, all supported by the central diagnostic services that operate 24 hours a day.
All our facilities undergo a constant process of renovation, so that the internal/external appearance and ergonomics of the building are optimal, as confirmed by the surveys and inspections carried out.

This service is located at the main entrance, at the point called “information”. It is operational from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. It is responsible for helping you with all your questions, administrative procedures and informing you of all issues related to the Hospital. If you need any documentation from your clinical history, the owner of the history must appear at this point and request it in writing through a form that will be provided. At this point, the complaint and suggestion forms are also available to you, during the hours previously stated. During the rest of the day and on Saturdays and holidays, these forms will be found at the switchboard. In this unit you will be informed, if required, about the free choice of hospital and doctor, as well as addresses and telephone numbers of the external support that is available to help you (associations, home help, residences, user management, etc.
If you need any documentation from your clinical history, the owner of the history must appear at this point and request it in writing through a form that will be provided.
Admission to our Hospital is carried out in a scheduled manner in the Hospital Admission Unit, and urgently in the Emergency service. Both scheduled and urgent admission must always be indicated by a doctor. You should always bring the following documentation:
- Health card or document from your insurer
- D.N.I.
- Admission document. Once your admission is formalized in the admission service, an orderly will accompany you to the care unit that corresponds to you.
You can be admitted to the following services of our center: Hospitalization, day hospital, Critical care unit and emergency observation. You can communicate at any time your willingness not to provide information about your stay in the hospital.
If companions and/or family members need to leave the center, please leave a telephone number with the nurses where they can be reached
Afternoon visits (4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) are restricted to one person per patient (with the exception of cases such as extreme severity, etc.). The rest of the day only two companions per room are allowed, please do not remain in the hallway, and keep silent out of respect for the rest of the patients and the staff who work at the Center. Visits from minors are not recommended and if it is essential.
Saturday and Sunday visits are free
Once you access the room, whether from the emergency room or the admission unit, a nursing assistant or a nurse from the hospitalization block will receive you, and: – Will explain where the patient call button is located, as well as lights and air conditioning. – Will provide clothing if you need it (pajamas or nightgown) as well as clean towels, bedding and gel or soapy sponge. – Will inform you that, remember that you are in a hospital and avoid running through the corridors or speaking loudly.
Although the rooms are double, the hospital will provide you with a single room whenever possible, especially if your admission is for maternity reasons and if your condition or illness requires it.
