Doctor Pascual Pascual
Pascual Hospitals
Our history
From the heart of Cádiz
In 1948, Dr. José Manuel Pascual Pascual founded a small 8-bed clinic in the center of Cádiz, following his passion for medicine. His vocation and love for his city prompted him to reinvest the profits he had in expanding his clinic, growing in capacity until he founded the San Rafael Hospital with 450 beds. The origin of Pascual Hospitals was born.
From father to son: The expansion.
After more than three decades in which the San Rafael Hospital is consolidated as the benchmark for healthcare in Cádiz, the management of the group passed in 1980 to José Manuel Pascual Sánchez-Gijón, son of the founder.
In the 80s, and seeing the changing trends in the sector, the company decides to expand its services and acquires a hospital with 250 beds in El Puerto de Santa María. This first expansion was followed by others outside the province of Cádiz, thus turning the group into a healthcare company with an Andalusian scope.
Serving the people of Cádiz.
After its expansion through other provinces, Hospitales Pascal turned its attention back to Cádiz to provide service to areas of the province that had difficult access to first-level health centers. In this way, in the 90s, it opened two new hospitals, one to serve the Sierra de Cádiz in Villamartín and another in Sanlúcar to serve the coast. Unlike previous expansions, the Virgen de las Montañas and Virgen del Camino Hospitals are constructions of the group itself in which a modern and functional design was chosen.
New generations
In the last decade, the management of the group has passed to the third generation of the Pascual family. Converted into a benchmark for healthcare in Andalusia, the company currently has 5 first-level hospitals and more than 1300 beds to serve the people of Andalusia.
The future
Our vision of the future is to remain at the forefront of medicine. For this reason, at Hospitales Pascual we invest in innovation and new technologies, in order to offer the people of Andalusia the best possible healthcare service.
